AquaGenTech provides customized services for DNA sequencing, genetic identification, genetic detection and monitoring, and phylogenetic analysis of aquatic organisms
from microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, protists) to animals (invertebrates, fishes, amphibia and reptiles, mammals) and plants (seaweeds and seagrasses) living in aquatic
environments such as sea, rivers, and lakes. Genetic data from aquatic organisms can be obtained by differentiated strategies according to their taxonomic groups
and target genes of interest (e.g., protein-coding genes, 16S or 18S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene, internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions,
mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase 1 gene (CO1), mitochondrial genome, etc.).
To meet the clients’ specialized needs, the trained staff of AquaGenTech with rich knowledge and experience in general biology, ecology, genetics,
and bioinformatics conducted a series of experiments from genomic DNA extractions and PCR amplifications for data analyses. In addition, genetic data of
valuable aquatic organisms were mined from the public database to compare and develop useful genetic markers for genetic identification, detection, and monitoring.
